What do you desire?
What does your heart reach for?
When we deviate from the known path and create our own path through a landscape, these self-made trails are called desire lines – directions we’re compelled towards, thresholds we’re urged to cross, spaces and places we hope to create.
Desire is a deep impulse, a want, a need, a force, a tendril extending from within. Whether deep and dark, secret and unspoken, or unbridled, overt and spilling forth, desire permeates our lives. Desire is essential to being human… so why, then, is it something we find so hard to express – to ourselves and even more so to each other?
In a life of bold contrast – of light + dark, abundance + great need – and a bounty of choice, what is it that we really desire? Are there true and false desires? What do you hunger for, thirst for and long for? What, above all else, would you do anything for? Once uncovered, how do we feed our desires in a way that’s satiating but not destructive, and how can we use them to grow as individuals, and also together?
Walk with us into desire, amid a garden of fig-trees, ancient stone walls, fields and overgrowth, for a sensory expedition like no other as we indulge you through taste, touch, scent, sight and sound, to uncover the deepest pools of human desire…
Passion, hedonism, gluttony and greed, and the more hidden and fragile desires we barely admit to ourselves – our want to be loved, touched + yearned for, respected, heard and sometimes even envied – and above all, our want to belong.
